James was tasked to develop a topic-focused instant messenger (IM) as his undergraduate research that is designed to organise chat messages for use in online discussions, meetings or conferences.

With multi-browser compatibility, this revolutionary chat messaging tool has an interface similar to file directories, effectively managing lengthy conversations. Online message storage enable past conversations to be retrieved for continued discussions.

Topic-focused IM is developed by cross-programming talk in AJAX, PHP and Flash ActionScript 2.0, supported by a Red5 Flash streaming server in Java.
